My primary desire as a composer is to reach islets of intimacy and communion through sound and live performance. These islets consist of musical moments, situated in a metaphorical delta composed of the lived experiences of all who experience a piece. The sounds of a specific forest I recorded, recall another forest from the listener's past, and for a moment the piece may explore multiple simultaneously different but similar places and times. My work with field recording, objects, poetry, theatre and active collaboration aims to use these common reference points to propose alternative creative and experimental perspectives on lived experience through sound.
